ISSA Customised Catalogue

ISSA Customised Catalogue: a new CD based tool for Ship Suppliers

Following the huge success of the latest version of the Ship Stores Catalogue, ISSA has now enabled its members to put their data on board their customers' ships in their own catalogue - all for the price of a good leaflet.

This is the ISSA Customised Catalogue. In the price you get 100 CDs in a handy credit card size that you can give away freely to your customers, agents etc for marketing purposes or as a sales order management tool for use on your customers' ships and in their offices.

Catalogue Viewer

The CD version of the generic ISSA Ship Stores Catalogue works inside a programme called the Catalogue Viewer, which enables the user to view the contents of each catalogue. The easiest way to explain this is to compare the Catalogue Viewer to Microsoft Excel and the Catalogues to the spreadsheets that you can use with Excel.

A ship supplier can now add its own catalogue to the ISSA Viewer so that it is displayed alongside the ISSA Catalogue - See Figure 1 (right). This product, which is known as the ISSA Customised Catalogue, is based on the same technology platform as the ISSA Catalogue. The customer, however, does not have to have purchased / loaded a copy of the ISSA Catalogue in order to use the ISSA Customised Catalogue; it will work on its own.

Combined Interface
Where both catalogues are present, however, the attraction is that it displays the ship supplier's own products alongside those generic ones in the ISSA Catalogue. Your customer only has to have one piece of software to display a number of catalogues

Perhaps most important of all is that, like the ISSA Catalogue, items can be selected and added to the ISSA Shopping Cart and from there transferred to a requisition in "ShipLink", ShipServ's onboard requisition generator which is bundled with the Catalogue. This can be used to create a print out or to make use of the built-in facility to forward the list via ShipServ's TradeNet. This means that you get accurately ordered parts that your customer knows that you can supply. Again you and your customer do not need to be ShipServ customers, although you will obtain maximum benefit if you are.

Demonstration

A demonstration of the CD Rom is available. It is a 1.5 Megabyte self extracting demonstration. Simply right-click on the link, and save the file to your computer. download button When you are ready to view the demo, just run the file. Option 4 gives you a demonstration of the Customised Catalogue

Why?

Why should you buy a catalogue? In short it will make the most of your product information by:

  • Present your product information on your customers' ships and ensuring that your specific products (as opposed to generic products) are ordered accurately using your own numbering system and with all the necessary data that you require
  • Differentiating you from your competitors
  • Maximising the benefits from long-term contracts with your customers and increasing the range of products your customer wants to buy
  • Attaching technical support information to lower the cost of support
  • Letting you receive all orders electronically, either through the ISSA shopping Cart, or placed through the built-in optional ShipServ TradeNet, so that your entire catalogue based business benefits from the solution.
  • In addition if your customer is a ShipServ TradeNet customer, he will derive benefit from your catalogue by delivering your information into his purchasing system saving him time from rekeying and error correction
  • Providing a marketing tool with much higher value to you and your customers

In addition if your customer is a ShipServ TradeNet customer, he will derive benefit from your catalogue by delivering your information into his purchasing system saving him time from rekeying and error correction.

Similarly if you are a TradeNet customer, integrating your catalogue with your sales order system will speed up your own ordering, saving your time from rekeying and error correction.
